John Wilson

Chicago, Illinois,John Wilson was born on February 6, 1934 in the back bedroom of the Chicago home of his parents, John and Mary (Kelly) Wilson. He has an older sister Dorothy (Wilson) Kolb. He received an associate degree in history from Wilson Junior College. During the Korean War, he proudly served our country. He worked for Texaco for 33 years. He had a great passion for the past, paleontology, archeology, wars, and he loved crossword puzzles. He taught Civil War history at a local college. He was a loving husband to Laurel Joyce Wilson for 52 ½ years. He was a father of 3 lovely children, Scott (fiancée JoAnn), Daniel (wife Ann), and Dawn (husband Greg), and grandfather of 6 wonderful grandchildren, Natalie, Eric, Grant, Cristina, Stephanie, and Tommy. He will be sincerely missed by all. The visitation will held from 3pm until the time of the memorial service at 5pm on Sunday, December 20 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL. Interment will be private. Mr. Wilson had many interests and was active in various endeavors.
