Joseph “Joe” “Papa” Albert Flashing, 71, of Woodstock died Monday, August 26, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 13, 1942 to Joseph John and Gertrude Flashing in Chicago.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy Flashing (nee Quinn); children, Joseph E. (Cindy) Flashing, Jennifer (Phil) Heuck, Kathy (Tom) Manka, and Karen (Dave) Holden; grandchildren, Joseph J. Flashing, Jazmin Flashing, Hannah Blakey, Emma Heuck, Katelyn Manka, Frank Manka, Alison Holden, and Andrea Holden; sister Barbara (Dan) Burke; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 3-9pm Thursday, August 29 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake and Friday, August 30 from 9:30-10:30am at the funeral home, processing to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake for a mass at 11am.
Burial will be held at Crystal Lake Memorial Park privately in the future.
