Joseph C. Lodi, 82, of Oakwood Hills, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. Born in Chicago on March 6, 1941, to the late Joseph and Florence (Gall) Lodygowski, Joe led a fulfilling life. He was a licensed barber, a dedicated mailman for 35 years in Rogers Park, a real estate broker, and a Quality Assurance Manager for his son's company for 25 years.
Joe found joy in his work and was passionate about travel, playing poker, and attending his grandchildren's sporting and school events. A big Cubs fan and a lover of jazz music, he was also known for his infamous joke telling. Joe adored his wife, Juliet, and was the best father his children could ask for, with his son and daughter being the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Juliet; children, Marcus (Elizabeth) Lodi of Algonquin and Michele (Thomas) Ivarson of Cary; grandchildren, Michael Lodi, Nicholas Lodi, Anna (Francisco) Lagunas, Joseph Ivarson, Katelyn Lodi, and Matthew Lodi; great-grandson, Arthur Lagunas; and his brother, Richard (Linda) Lodygowski. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Lodygowski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, from 4pm to 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 N. First St., Cary, on Saturday, March 9, from 12 noon until the mass at 1pm.
Entombment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park.
