Joseph Edward Sullivan

Joseph Edward Sullivan, 96, passed away peacefully on April 19.  Born Sept. 10, 1926, in Fall River, Mass., to the late Daniel and Sarah Sullivan.  He was a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.  He worked his entire career at Anaconda American Brass. He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Patricia G. Sullivan (nee Murphy).

Survivors include Kevin Sullivan of Naperville, Karen (Jack) Lambert of Barrington, Kelley (Tom) Prentiss of Barrington and Kerry (Eileen) Sullivan of St. Charles.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Shannon, Michael and Dylan Sullivan, Tyler (Lyndsy), Lindsey and Erin Lambert, Patrick and Caroline Prentiss and Maggie, Colin (Cathy), Sean and Aidan Sullivan and many nieces and nephews.

A Barrington resident for the last 42 years, he and Pat raised their family in Newtown. Conn. He and Pat enjoyed traveling in retirement, visiting many national and international cities. A life-long learner, he instilled his sense of curiosity in his family. His greatest gift, with his wife Pat, was creating a loving environment for his family and friends.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
