Joseph E. Tuszynski, 89, of Lake Barrington Shores, passed away on March 10, 2026. He was born in Chicago on March 22, 1936 to Albert and Mary Tuszynski.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and Papa, Joe was selfless and always giving. After a long and highly successful career as an instrumentation engineer his unstoppable energy kept him always on the go volunteering endless hours with multiple organizations including St. Anne’s Annie’s Attic as well as House of Hope for over 25 years, and at Good Shepherd Hospital in many capacities for over 30 years. He also donated time by driving veterans to the VA hospital as well as playing the organ at nursing homes for several years.
He used his abilities and passions to volunteer his time at St. Zachary with his wife, Ann. He and Ann pioneered and taught Pickleball and various other activities with their community at Lake Barrington Shores. He coached sports for his children and later he cheered on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events. He served families in need; he was a man who simply enjoyed life. His infectious enthusiasm…everything about him…is and will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his children, David Tuszynski, Donna (Tracy) Followell, Cynthia Kline, Camille (James) Strissel, and Robert (Andrea) Tuszynski; grandchildren, Lauren (Jonathan) O’Brien, Brittany Kline, Mikayla (Eric) Feetterer, Joshua Kline, and Zachary Tuszynski; and great grandchildren, JorDan Kline, Alannah O’Brien, Brae Kline, Josiah O’Brien, Nevaeh Kline and Sullivan Feetterer.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Ann, and by his parents.
Truly the patriarch of our family!
A memorial mass for Joe will be on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St., Barrington with memorial visitation to begin at 9 AM.
