Joy Rena Arient (née Delgado), 66, passed away on March 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. She was born on May 15, 1959, in Oak Park, Illinois.
Joy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of faith whose greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. Affectionately known as “Nana,” it was her favorite name to be called. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—working on puzzles, reading books, and sharing her love of puns with those around her. She had an amazing, unforgettable laugh and loved nothing more than gathering her family together and making sure everyone was well fed—always with more than enough to go around. Her deep love for God was evident in her faithful attendance at church and the way she lived her life with kindness and grace.
She is survived by her beloved children: Joseph Arient (Mareva), John Arient (Tara), Kimberly House (Raymond), and Lisa Gigele (Matthew). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Julia, Cecilia, Riley, Bradley, McKenzie, Anthony, Nathan, and Giuliana, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Raymond Delgado.
Joy's services have changed and will now be held privately. If you wish, please leave a fond memory of Joy on her tribute wall.
“Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Joy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, her faith, and the fierce love she gave so freely to her family.
