Joyce Elaine Nystrom

Joyce Elaine Nystrom, 83, of Prairie Grove, Illinois, passed away on June 15, 2026. 

Joyce lived a full and meaningful life, remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, bringing comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Many will remember Joyce for her 19 years of dedicated service at Eagle Foods in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where she formed lasting friendships and left a lasting impression. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she cherished most. 

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Nystrom; her loving children, Jan Mikulic (Steve), Lisa Dreyer (Dave), and Eric Nystrom (Janet); as well as four cherished grandchildren, Zachary Hughes (Kaycie), Stephanie Clay (Calvin), Rachel Hughes, and Kelly Dahlke (Tyler); and four great-grandchildren, Beau, Hailey, Taylor, and Dean, who brought her immense pride and joy.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Joyce’s life.

Joyce will be fondly remembered for the love she gave so freely and will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
