Judith Lee (McGuire) Roesslein

February 5, 1954 — September 19, 2023

Davenport Crystal Lake

In honor of Judy's love for decorating at the Christmas season, there will be a joyful remembrance for her on Friday, December 1, from 2:30 until 5:30, at The Dole, 401 Country Club Ln., Crystal Lake.

On September 19, 2023, at the age of 69, Judy passed away at her home in Crystal Lake. She's now reunited with her parents, Bill and Peg McGuire, her baby sister, Mary, and father-in-law Lawrence Roesslein.

Judy’s life was filled with love, evident in the close bonds she shared with her husband, Ron, and her siblings, Nancy (John) Lawson, Peggy (Steve) Dickstein, Sharon (Robert) Camp, Bill (Nancy) McGuire, and Kevin (Marianne) McGuire. Her family extended further, with her mother-in-law, Mary Ann, brother-in-law, Roger; and sister-in-law, Renee (Ralph) Cavazos, to whom Judy was a cherished sister.

Judy and Ron exchanged marriage vows on October 1, 1988, in a gazebo at Flat Iron Park in Lake Geneva. Their love story was one of shared adventures and growth, of discovering and cherishing life's many treasures together.

Judy’s heart had a special corner for animals which led to her job working with thoroughbreds at Arlington Race Track as well as caring for her own horses. Her travel memories with Ron were dotted with horseback rides, whether against the backdrop of the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee or the breezy shores of a Caribbean Island. And her love was equally immense for her two Collies, Barron and Trevor.

She is dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

In her unique and spirited manner, Judy expressed a wish for no traditional services, believing them to be “too sad”. Instead, a celebration of her radiant life will be planned in the future.

If you wish to honor her memory, consider a memorial to the Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois, whose members brightened Judy’s day by visiting her with two collies she was able to pet and snuggle with and also brought a pair of horses into her house, right up to her bedside.
