Julie Ann Antongiovanni

Julie Antongiovanni (nee ford), 57, of Crystal Lake passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 28, 2026. She was born on February 12th, 1969 in Evanston, IL to Richard and Dolores (nee Felicicchia) Ford, and later a big sister to Brian Ford.

Julie was a graduate of Lake Park High School’s class of 1987 and of Illinois State University’s class of 1991. While at ISU, she studied to become an athletic trainer. Julie served as an athletic trainer in a variety of sports, including as an assistant trainer at Wheaton College and she also worked in physical therapy where she helped many patients on their rehab journey. In addition, she served as a gymnastics coach at the Bloomingdale park district, after her time as a gymnast there. In 1993 Julie married the love of her life, Michael Antongiovanni, at St. Isadore Church in Bloomingdale, IL. Julie and Michael were married for the rest of her life, celebrating 33 years of marriage. Julie and Michael had four children; Sarah, Joshua, Emma, and Mahri with whom she loved to spend her time. Julie could often be found coaching one of their various sports teams, creating elaborate art pieces for school clubs and assignments, fostering a love for reading, or playing games with her kids, niece, and nephew. After moving to Crystal Lake in 2002, Julie became active as a parent volunteer in district 47 where she served as room mom, organized holiday parties, and would create large art installation pieces for the Bernotas band banquet. As her children grew older, Julie extended her volunteer time to district 155 where she helped to support the CLC band program, cross country, and track teams. Regardless of the task or district, Julie was always someone who was incredibly resourceful and a creative person who used her passion to lead others and create memories for many. She later became a member of the art and environment committee at St. Thomas the Apostle church, where she was a parishioner. She used this time to make sure that the church was a place that was beautiful, warm, and inviting for all. While at St. Thomas her faith continued to grow as she worked to be a servant of God in her community. Regardless of the role she was in, Julie approached everything and everyone with kindness, joy, hard work, and dedication. Julie loved a sweat treat to celebrate the day and a comfortable stuffed animal to snuggle up with.

Julie will be deeply missed by her husband, Michael Antongiovanni; her daughters Sarah, Emma, and Mahri Antongiovanni; her brother Brian Ford, his wife Colleen and their children Mikayla and Keegan. Along with the rest of the Antongiovanni and Ford families, and countless other family members, friends, and individuals who hold her in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Dolores (nee Felicicchia) Ford and her son, Joshua Antongiovanni.
