Karen E. Blucker, 84, passed away on September 4, 2026. She was born on September 21, 1941 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late James and Florence Utterback.
On September 12, 1961, she married her loving husband, Elvan at North Shore Baptist Church. Together, they shared 57 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2019.
Karen worked at Immanuel Lutheran school cafe, Montgomery Wards, home daycare for family and neighbors, and was active in CL Evangelical Free Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, bird watching, camping, playing piano and singing, listening to gospel music, and eating at local restaurants and had an infectious laugh.
Her daily routine of checking the obituaries to make sure she wasn’t listed has finally come to an end.
Karen is survived by her children, Kristy (Michael) Scanlan and Tom (Kathy) Blucker; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Steven, Nathan (Victoria), Hannah, Rachel, Cory, and great granddaughter Gemma.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Donald Utterback.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial to immediately follow at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moody Bible Institute.
