Kari Wahlborg

Kari Wahlborg, 46, of Barrington and Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 13, 1979 in Arlington Heights, IL to Bruce and Kathy Wahlborg.

Kari truly loved life in Florida and embraced everything the Sunshine State had to offer. She found happiness in warm weather, beautiful rainstorms, and the wildlife that made Florida so special to her. Animals held a special place in her heart, especially alligators, which fascinated her throughout her life. She also delighted in feeding squirrels and turtles, finding joy in even the simplest moments nature provided.

As a fan of Disney, Kari especially adored Mickey and Minnie Mouse, whose cheerful spirit matched her own. She loved creating memories with family and friends, laughing often, having fun, and making everyone around her feel welcome and loved.

The holidays were among Kari’s greatest joys. Halloween was her favorite time of year, and she especially loved handing out candy to excited trick-or-treaters and seeing the happiness on children’s faces.

Above all, Kari loved her family and friends deeply and cherished the time spent with them.

Kari will be deeply missed by her parents Bruce and Kathy Wahlborg, her grandmother Elfine Hansen and her siblings Heidi (Ryan) Kepler, Erik (Julie) Wahlborg and her niece Claire Kepler and her nephews Frank Kepler and John, Mikey, and Timmy Wahlborg. And her companion Tommy Sorenson, and her many aunts, uncles and cousins

She was preceded in death by her grandparents  Frank Howell, Crystal Craig, and George Wahlborg.

Visitation for Kari will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 10 AM until the memorial service at 11 AM at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington, IL 60010.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
