Katherine Elizabeth McEnroe

Katherine (Kathy) Elizabeth McEnroe died peacefully March 13, 2023 after a long,  courageous battle with cancer.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 35 years, John E. McEnroe, her mother, Mary  W. Williams, and her sister, Kristin W. Harding. She was preceded in death by her  father, John P. Williams.

Kathy grew up in Barrington. She graduated from Barrington High School in 1978  and DePauw University in 1982. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.  Kathy and John were married in 1988 and resided in Chicago for most of their married life.

Following graduation from DePauw, Kathy worked in event planning and  development at the Chicago Bar Association and DePaul University. She was a  devoted volunteer at the Lincoln Park Zoo and the City of Chicago. She enjoyed  cooking, reading, live theater, traveling and spending time at hers and John’s Kentucky home. She enjoyed being with the scores of friends she developed during her lifetime.

Kathy’s family is most grateful for the medical care she received from her doctors  and nurses at Northwestern Hospital as well as the caregivers who attended her needs through Accentcare Hospice and Wesley Place nursing home.

Plans for a memorial service have not been formalized.
