Kedar Sukhatme

Kedar Uday Sukhatme, 53 passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025. He was born on November 21, 1971 in Seattle, WA. The son of Uday and Medha (née Agashe) Sukhatme.

Kedar was a distinguished public interest lawyer. He dedicated his career to helping those who were less fortunate and impacted the lives of countless Illinoisans. As managing partner of Benos, Sukhatme, and Associates, Kedar proudly served the state in assisting those appealing unemployment denials for the past 29 years.

Kedar was an avid reader, writer, and most importantly the most loving father imaginable. He was a sports enthusiast and a keen tennis player. He loved going for long walks and watching football and sports with family and friends. He loved listening to rock music, attending concerts, and exploring the world. He was the most kindhearted gem of a person who selflessly cared for everyone around him.

Kedar is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Prajakta (née Karandikar) and beloved twin sons Rajan and Tejas Sukhatme (18).

The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm all at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047
