Kenneth Earl Garrison, 76, of Wheeling, Illinois passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on February 28, 2024. He was born on November 21,1947, in Chicago, Illinois.
Ken was a member of the Village Church of Barrington for over a decade, where he found purpose, community, and a place to live out his faith.
Ken married Victoria Lee (Higgins) Garrison on July 19, 1969. While they enjoyed 55 years of devoted partnership, their friendship actually began as small children on Chicago’s South Side.
A 1967 graduate of Chicago's Washburne Trade School. Ken was a member of The Chicago Carpenter's Union for more than 30 years. He was known for his attention to detail and craftsmanship and was quick to offer his expertise to family, friends, and neighbors.
A lover of animals and wildlife, Ken found joy in caring for the squirrels and birds near his Wheeling home. He affectionately gave them names like Scruff and Black Belly. His sparkling blue eyes and playful sense of humor were sources of light and laughter to all who knew him. Ken also enjoyed the water and was also proud to be a certified SCUBA diver.
Ken is survived by his wife, Victoria Lee Garrison; his children, Kimberly (Garrison) Sutherlin and spouse Robert Grant Sutherlin, Kenneth Edward Garrison and spouse Valerie (Harris) Garrison, Timothy Andrew Garrison; his cherished grandchildren, Kenneth James Garrison, Emily Lynn Garrison, Victoria Brooke Sutherlin and Amelia Jane Sutherlin; and his siblings, Michael Garrison and Geraldine (Garrison) August.
