Kenneth "Ken" Mola Sr.

Kenneth J. Mola Sr. born to eternal life on November 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Raised in Berwyn IL he graduated from Elmhurst (IL) University and then entered the United States Army based in Fort Ord, California. At 6’2” tall, Ken was a player in his Army’s basketball league.

After meeting his wife Em at the Spiegel Catalog Company, he moved his family to Barrington, IL in 1967 and began a successful 30+ year career with Boise Cascade and other companies selling paper to printers and publishers. Ken’s main passion in life was being a serious Musky fisherman, catching almost 400 legal sized fish throughout the upper Midwest and Canada.

He is survived by his two sons Ken Jr. of Sussex. WI and John of Chicago, IL brother-in-law Robert Tubay of Orland Park, IL. 

Ken is preceeded in death by his wife of 60 years Emily “Em” (Dircks) sister Laverne “Lovey” Tubay and parents John and Rose Mola. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington. Visitation will resume on Friday, December 12 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington from 9:30 AM until the funeral mass at 10:30 AM.
