Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, Kevin J. Kavanagh passed away much too soon but peacefully surrounded by his closest loved ones on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
Kevin was born on December 25, 1953 to parents Veronica and John Kavanagh. He grew up in Arlington Heights and was a proud St Viator Class of 1971 alum. A dedicated professional as a chef turned accountant, he retired from Kraft Foods in 2011. He loved to golf, cook, laugh and make laugh. But most of all - he loved his family and friends deeply and unconditionally.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Patsy (Olsen) of 45 years; his adoring children Janice, Erin and Gabe (spouse), and Ryan and Michelle (spouse); grandchildren Bobby, Johnny, Tony, Jackie, Evelyn, Gryffin, Oliver and Graham; great grandchildren Johnny, Riley and Caroline; his siblings Patti Anderson, Tim Kavanagh, Brian Kavanagh and Jim Kavanagh; and endless family and friends near and far. Preceded in death by parents John and Veronica Kavanagh, Gina Schroeder and sister Maureen Kelley.
A visitation for Kevin will be held on Friday, August 26, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Lake Zurich, IL; followed by an Irish Funeral at Bacchus Nibbles in Lake Zurich where stories will be told, memories shared and drinks and snacks served. A second visitation will be held the following morning at the funeral home from 11am until the time of service at 12pm; followed by a luncheon location TBD.
