Kevin J. Scott

Kevin J. Scott, 62, of Crystal Lake, passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2023. He was born on May 27, 1961 in Evanston, IL to Charles and Diana Scott.

Kevin graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. He lived out his academic passion with a 38-year career at Dow Chemical, retiring in December 2022. He enjoyed his free time bowling and playing golf, tending to his lawn, drinking beer with friends, and playing “guys” with his grandson. Kevin loved traveling to Vegas with his best friend, Eddy, attending concerts across North America with his wife, Liz, and a love for both the mountains and beach. Kevin was a big Chicago sports fan, and often reminisced on times riding the train to downtown Chicago to see the Cubs play at Wrigley Field.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Scott; daughters, Kelly (Derek) Huber and Courtney Scott (Mike Weingand); grandson, Harrison; brother, David (Andrea) Scott; Nephews, Dylan and Zander Scott; Sister, Dana (Joe) Hamner; Uncle, Gary Davidson; and Aunt, Dorothy Schwiedergoll.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Diana Scott, and his grandparents, Anna Mae and Floyd Michaelsen, and Pearl Schwiedergoll.

A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 3 PM until 7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
