Wonder Lake, Illinois formerly of Crystal Lake,A Memorial Visitation for Kim Friel McLaughlin nee Watkins, 53, of Wonder Lake, formerly of Crystal Lake will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009, from 2pm until the time of Memorial Service at 7pm, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private. Born September 27, 1956 in Chicago, she passed away on December 26, 2009 at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit in Woodstock. Kim was a very creative person who loved sewing, gardening, traveling, photography, and cooking. She loved and adored her family. She is survived by her loving husband John McLaughlin; beloved children Bobby Friel, Kristi (Todd) Walsh, Tommy Friel, and stepson Dane McLaughlin; cherished mother Barbara Watkins; dear siblings Wendy (Bill) Koll, Laurie (Steve) Obermeier, Jody (Jimmy) Friel, and Lathe Haynes; dearest grandmother Gertrude Bates, and many nieces and nephews. Kim was also the former wife of Bob Friel. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Watkins and brother Michael.
