Kristina L. Foltz, 56, of Vernon Hills, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. She was born on April 23, 1969, in Chicago to William and Linda McSweeney and grew up in Barrington, where her lifelong passions first began.
As a young girl, Kristina discovered her love for horseback riding. One magical Christmas, she received her first pony, Sultan—a gift that sparked years of dedication and achievement. Together, Kristina and Sultan proudly competed at the nationals at Madison Square Garden. Her equestrian success continued with her beloved horse, Otis, as she earned many awards and ribbons in competitions.
Kristina attended Carroll College, where she earned her degree in education. Though she valued her education and career, her greatest pride and joy were her children—Megan, Sarah, and Jake. She was their biggest cheerleader, faithfully attending sporting events, school activities, and milestones, always offering encouragement and unconditional love.
Family was at the heart of everything Kristina did. Her love of cooking was inspired by her grandmother, Clarice, whose traditional family recipes Kristina lovingly carried on. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness. She especially loved Christmas—the decorating, the traditions, and the joy of making the season magical for her family. Shopping was practically a sport to her, and she delighted in spending time browsing and exploring craft shows with her mother, creating cherished memories along the way.
Kristina treasured traveling with her children, whether cruising in Florida or visiting Colorado, embracing every opportunity to create lasting adventures together. Her journey of love and happiness continued when she married her soulmate and best friend, Bob. They were married on a beautiful beach in Jamaica, beginning a chapter filled with adventures, companionship, laughter, and deep devotion. Kristina was the love of Bob’s life, and together they shared an unbreakable bond.
Kristina will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Bob; her children, Megan, Sarah and Jake Pinn; granddaughter, Penelope Long; father, William McSweeney; sisters, Susie (Joshua) Lisle, Julie McSweeney, Kelley (Mike) Shippel; nephew, Jack Schippel; and by many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda McSweeney and by her grandmother, Clarice McSweeney.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10 AM until the memorial service at 11 AM at Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 E Main St., Barrington. Interment will be private.
