Kristy Rutter

Born June 20, 1970 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Dennis Earl and Joan Louise (nee Harrell) Shewell, Kristy passed away on January 5, 2017 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL
Friends may visit with Kristy's family on Tuesday, January 10 beginning at 3:00pm with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 7:00pm at The Chapel, 180 N Hawthorne Rd, Barrington.
Kristy was a missionary with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) for several years, pastor at Willow Creek Community church, and most recently consultant for multi-site church development.
A 1992 Wheaton College graduate she ministered in Bolivia, Nepal, and in Amsterdam where she was part of Shining Light that worked to help girls caught up in human trafficking. She is a member of The Chapel of Barrington IL.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Rutter, and two children, Holland and Jorah. Also by her parents Dennis and Joan Shewell of Salem Indiana, a sister, Karalynn Hines of Milton GA, a brother, Nathan Shewell of Indianapolis IN and two nephews, Zachary and Dylan Hines and one niece, Arya Shewell.
She dedicated her life to Jesus and her family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
