Lawrence "Larry" Treiber, 65, home with the Lord on April 10, 2023 after a race well run for his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Larry was born on June 18, 1957 in Chicago, Il to the late Albert and Roberta Treiber. He was raised in Evergreen Park, Il where he attended Most Holy Redeemer School and Evergreen Park High School.
Despite the many challenges of mental illness, Larry blessed the world with his gentle demeanor, humor, and music. He loved his guitar from early teenage years, mastering classical music and playing at all his sister's weddings.
He played for Thresholds events, various fundraisers his mother's nursing home, and the worship team at St. Ita Parish in Chicago.
His impact in the AA community for over 30 years will be a lasting legacy.
His warm, gentle nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Joe); his sisters, Cheryl (Gerry) Treiber-Kawaoka, Donna (Richard) Nowell, and Julie (Steven) Burns. He was a loving "Buncle" to 10 nieces and nephews and 21 grand-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving friends in the Thresholds and AA community.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 2 PM until the 4:30 PM memorial service at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Larry's name can be to Thresholds (Chicago Location), who served Larry so well over the decades. Donations can be made online, here , or via phone with April Popp, 773-537-3298.
