Leonora Dela Cruz Ramos

Leonora “Ning” Ramos, 89, of Lake in the Hills, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018.

Born December 12, 1928, in Manila, Philippines, she was the daughter of Crispulo and Andrea (Cruz) Dela Cruz. She was united in marriage to Francisco Bailoses Ramos† on March 1, 1948.

Leonora was a determined and charming young maiden, who worked as a telephone operator during World War II in her younger years to support her siblings.

Leonora enjoyed her life to the fullest with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She finds happiness in the simplest of things like cooking for her husband, children and grandchildren. And she was well loved by many.

Leonora is survived by her cherished sons, Art Ramos of Huntley, IL, Ernesto Ramos of Elgin, IL, Rolando Ramos of Elgin, IL, and Romeo Ramos of Lake in the Hills, IL; her precious daughters, Norma Ramos-Arandela of Crystal Lake, IL, Corazon Ramos-Lanz of Zurich, Switzerland, Zenaida Ramos-Padilla of Winnetka, CA, Edna Ramos-Luceno of Owensboro, KY, Myrna Ramos-Guedel of Zurich, Switzerland, and Celia Ramos-Ujano of Bolingbrook, IL; and their families including 24 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren with one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Ramos; some siblings; and her parents.

The visitation for Leonora will be from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday, February 25, 2018. This will be held at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rte 176), Crystal Lake.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 starting at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. The service will be officiated by Rev. Romeo (Mio) Pavino. Interment will follow at 11:45am at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S Rawson Bridge Rd. Cary, IL 60013.
