Lisa Beth Villarreal-Lopez

Lisa Beth Villarreal-Lopez, 54 years of age and resident of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.

Lisa was born on October 13, 1970, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to the late Estella Villarreal. In 1988, Lisa met her future husband, Jaime Lopez while out shopping. The two went on to have two daughters, Bianca and Gianna Lopez. In 2006, the Lopez Family bought Pop’s Corn Crib in Downtown Crystal Lake, still running the business today. Lisa was known as the “Popcorn Queen” by many in the community who she interacted with during daily business operations. Her favorite color was purple, and she loved the style of the eighties, big hair, makeup, and all. A music lover, Guns N’ Roses, Journey, and Bon Jovi were some of her favorites. Lisa was spunky and sassy with a heart of gold and an incredible sense of humor. She will be missed by many.

Survived by her loving daughters Bianca and Gianna Lopez; husband Jaime Lopez; brother Mark Villarreal; and her fur baby, Goofy the dog; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Estella Villarreal; grandparents Teresa and Ezequiel Villarreal; and other fur babies Tinkerbell, Milo, Max, Gizmo, and Baby.

Private family services will be held at a later date with further information pending.
