Lola "Dolores" Ornelas

Lola Ornelas of Crystal Lake, raised in Chicago, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the age of 94.

She was born on October 5, 1928 in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Jose and Petra (nee Moreno) Perez. Lola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt. She dedicated her life to her husband Joe for almost 70 years, until he preceded her in death in 2019. Joe and Lola loved to travel and spend time with her family. She took pleasure in sharing her enjoyment of Shirley Temple’s movies and dolls.

Her family was first and foremost in her life and she loved being a mother to her only son, Joseph (Delphine) Ornelas Jr.; a proud Grandma to her 4 grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Finch, Angela (Shawn) Young, Joseph (Emily) Ornelas III, and Jennie (Adam) Davis; her 11 great-grandchildren, Grace, Anna and Ben Finch, Colin and Logan Young, Amelia, John and Andrew Ornelas, Bryce, Trent and Chace Davis; and her nieces Linda & Tina.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law Delphine, her parents Jose and Petra, and her brothers Tony (Marge) Perez and Art Perez.

Catholic Mass and Inurnment will be private.
