Lorraine M. Trentz

Lorraine M. Trentz, 100, of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022. She was born on April 13, 1922 in Orland Park, IL to the late Mathias and Wilhelmina Homerding.

Growing up during the Great Depression inspired her thrift and excellent cooking. She always had a pot of soup on the stove and a delicious meal ready no matter what ingredients she had on hand. Her baking was just as delicious as her cooking, from her angel food cake to her chocolate chip cookies to her pecan pie, everything was baked to perfection with love. As a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, she was especially proud to be able to witness them finally winning the World Series in 2016.

Lorraine will be deeply missed by her children, Connie (Jim) Mundo and Bill (Vicki) Valentine; grandchildren, Kimberly, Candis, Christopher (Tanya) and Jennifer Valentine; great-grandchildren, Lucia, Rocco, Matthew and Serena; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl in 1965, her second husband, Thomas in 2015; her daughter, Mary Valentine; and her siblings.

Services and interment will be private.
