Lucian "Fritz" Masur

Lucian “Fritz” Masur passed away peacefully August 27, 2023 in Barrington. He was born on January 8, 1925 to Alexander and Mary Masur.  Fritz served honorably as a U.S. Marine in World War II and the Korean War.  He also was a proud member of the Elks Club, serving as New York State President and in national office.  Fritz was married for 75 years to his childhood sweetheart, Christine “Tina” Masur, who passed away earlier this year.

Fritz is survived by his children, Cheryl (late David) Garrigan and Dan (Sherry Rhodes) Masur; grandchildren, Kristin (Michael Wiehe) Garrigan, Kathleen (Robert) Ipsen, Cassandra (David) Schmidt, Jack Masur, and Alex Masur; great grandchildren, Megan, Cam, Piper, and Love Wiehe, Brooke and Kara Ipsen, and Charlotte and Penelope Schmidt; his siblings George Masur, Arthur Masur, Barbara Armstrong, Edna Crown and Caroline Dykas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine “Tina”; his siblings Jerome Masur, Dorothy Kennedy, Gregory Masur and Brian Masur; and by his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2023 from 10 AM until the funeral mass at 11am, at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela Street (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.) Barrington, IL. Inurnment to follow at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.
