Lucille M. Ristau

Lucille M. Ristau, 94, of Hoffman Estates, died peacefully in her home on January 24, 2026.

Lucille was born in Chicago on July 18, 1931, to parents Frank and Mary (nee Rostan) Grill. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Ristau, on October 28, 1950. The couple were married for 65 years until Robert’s death on June 28, 2016.

Lucille loved to go bowling and was involved in different leagues throughout the years. She was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and always had faith they would win. She loved to attend games at Wrigley Field, and if she couldn’t go in person, she would listen to the games on the radio. She loved to go out to eat and looked forward to a good Italian meal. Lucille also loved traveling and went on many road trips.

Lucille was a loving wife and mother who took great pride in her home. She loved to keep a pristine house and was always prepared. Her great joy in life was her family. She was overjoyed to become a grandmother and then again to become a great-grandmother.

Lucille is survived by her children, David (Becky) Ristau, and Gail (Michael) Palmier; her grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Ristau, Adam (Michelle) Ristau, Jacqueline (Thomas) Coughlin, Gregory (Kari) Palmier, Andrew (Lauren) Palmier, and Elizabeth (Russell) Donofrio; and her great grandchildren, Landon, Felicity, Payson, Hunter, Grace, Annabelle, Santino, Lucy, and George.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Ristau, and her brothers, Robert Grill and Edmund Grill.

Lucille will be missed dearly by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to time of Memorial Service 11 a.m. all at Lutheran Church of Martha & Mary, 606 W Golf Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056.
