Magdalena Jaeggin

Magdalena Jaeggin ("Lynn" or "Leni"), 91, of Barrington, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.

Magdalena was born on March 25, 1935, in Militec, then part of Yugoslavia (present-day Serbia), to Michael and Theresia (née Stilling) Steiger. She was a proud Donauschwaben (Danube Swabian). As a young girl, she endured the hardships of World War II and its aftermath, including time in the Gakovo internment camp. After her escape, she and her family rebuilt their lives in Vienna, Austria, where she lived for several years before immigrating to the United States in 1957.

In 1959, she married the love of her life, Egon Jaeggin. Together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until Egon's passing in September 2021. As Egon founded and grew Numerical Precision (NPI), Magdalena was his trusted partner in every sense. Together they built not only a successful family business but also a home centered on hard work, generosity, and love while raising their three children.

Magdalena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving children, Darlene (Gary) Zak, Christine (Charles) Olson, and Thomas Jaeggin; her beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, Catherine, Matthew, Daniel, Isabelle, and August; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Clarke, Juniper, Eden, and Rowan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Egon Jaeggin, and her brother, Frank (Ellen) Steiger.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, Illinois 60010.
