Margaret "Peggy" Eberspacher

Margaret “Peggy” Louise Eberspacher, 71, of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Peggy was born on July 4, 1954, in Chicago to John and Christine (nee Srebalus) McCrum and grew up on the north side of the city.

She earned her nursing degree and later completed specialized wound care training from the Cleveland Clinic. Nursing was more than a profession for Peggy- it was her calling. She was deeply committed to her patients, passionate about caring for others, and known for mentoring and encouraging those entering the nursing field. Her dedication and leadership eventually led her into health care administration, though her heart always remained with hands-on patient care.

Peggy was energetic, persistent, and fiercely self-reliant. A natural caretaker, she was also a strong and loyal advocate for those she loved. She had a sharp sense of style, favored bold colors, and was always thoughtfully put together. Peggy enjoyed traveling, especially to places filled with sunshine, water, and beaches. She had a special affection for birds—particularly cardinals—as well as dogs, and she found joy in the simple beauty of everyday life.

She is survived by her life partner of 17 years, Eleyson Cubias; her granddaughter, Carmella Burton; her brother Michael McCrum; her former husband, John (Luida ‘Sissy’) Eberspacher; her sister-in-law, Barbara McCrum-Fabian (Ken); her nieces, Angela McCrum and Erin Savoia; and her dear friends, Terry (Erik) Ball and Vicky Real.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christine Srebalus; her brother John D. McCrum and her sons, Joshua and Adam Eberspacher.

A private memorial service will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Projector the ASPCA.
