Margot Edith (Strahl) Massat

Margot Edith (nee Strahl) Massat, 85, passed away August 24, 2022. Margot was born December, 12, 1936 in Potsdam, Germany to the late Paul and Hildegard Strahl.

Margot was a caring soul and proud of her entire family. She lost her parents in WWII and at the age of 14 she moved to the United States to live with her aunt and uncle; Robert and Anna Otto. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, but mostly taking care of and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband Herbert; sons, Gerhard, Erich, and Robert; daughter-in-law, Alla; grandchildren, Trueman, Joi, Krista, Nicole, Ben, and Tony; sisters, Waltraud, Brigitte (Helmut); and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 9:30 am till the time of service at 11am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory 941 South Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Burial will take place at Ascension Cemetery 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60030.
