Marguerite "Peggy" Grzelak

Marguerite “Peggy” Dalton Grzelak passed away peacefully October 16, 2025 in Lake Zurich. She was born December 18, 1950 in Chicago to Cornelius “Con” Dalton and Cecelia (Tesmer) Dalton.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Michelle “Shelley” Grzelak; siblings, Mary (late Bernie) Uccello, John (late Cathy) Dalton, Tom (late Kay) Dalton, and Pat (late Bill) Paulick; sister in law, Laura Dalton; and in laws Jerry & Juanita Grzelak and Delores & the late Rich Grzelak; many nieces and nephews, including Godson, Ron Paulick and Goddaughter, Jovey Dalton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Grzelak; sister, Kathy Dalton; and brother, Frank Dalton.

Peggy was a vibrant and generous woman who lived life with music in her heart and a Diet Pepsi in hand. A devoted mother and loving wife, she carried her husband’s memory with grace and strength for 37 years.

Born with a free spirit and a deep love for live music—especially anything by the Beatles—Peggy brought joy and laughter wherever she went. Through her lifelong volunteer work, she touched countless lives with her kindness, warmth, and sense of purpose.

Bubbly and fiercely independent, she overcame challenges from a life changing accident in the 1970’s with grace and unwavering optimism. Her legacy of love, laughter, and determination will live on in all who knew her.

Memorial visitation will begin at 2pm until a eulogy service at 7pm Tuesday, October 21 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich. Internment will be held privately.
