Maria Pilar Barros

Maria Pilar Barros, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully beside the Love of her life and surrounded by her five boys and grandson, Kai, on September 3, 2026 at the age of 80.

She was born October 12, 1945 in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines, the daughter of the late Genaro and Dolores (Aranda) Teotico.

Maria was the loving wife of Jose B. Barros; beloved mother of Carlo, Joe, Mark, Mike and Gene; cherished grandmother of Patrick, Rosie, Kai, Sabrina, and great-grandchildren, Harrison and Lucy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Teodoro, Jun, and Gil; and her infant daughters, twins Monica and Margarita, and Maureen.

Maria was a fiercely protective, loving and devoted mother to her sons and a steadfast wife to her husband. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to providing for them, protecting them, and supporting them through every season of life. With unwavering strength, resilience, and a strong will, she faced life’s challenges with courage.

She expressed her love in the most meaningful ways through her guidance, tireless care, her sacrifices, and the comfort of a home filled with love. She was blessed with a gift for cooking, creating wonderful meals that brought her family together around the table, and she had a beautiful talent for sewing, creating with her own hands and heart. She even taught them how to sew and use a sewing machine. Maria’s love was steadfast, generous, and unconditional, and the devotion she gave her family will remain a cherished part of their lives forever.
