Marianne Laga

Marianne G. Laga, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Elk Grove Village, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the age of 90.

She was born April 17, 1935 in Chicago, the daughter of the late John Irmen, Sr. and Vivian (Jennett) Irmen.

Marianne was an original employee of The Popcorn Factory and remained there for many years, even offering her time later in life during their busy Christmas season. Marianne loved spending time with family, hosting Sunday dinner and many other meals; shopping, showering gifts to family and friends, crafting, dancing, and socializing with her Sunrise friends.

On June 14, 1958, Marianne was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edward Laga, Sr. They were married for 64 years until his passing in 2022.

Marianne is survived by her loving children, Ed Laga, Jr., Tim Laga, Vivian (Mark) Ennis, Kevin (Nancy) Laga, and Susan (Roy) Porter; her beloved grandchildren, Brandon (Crystal), Michael (Kari), and Kory (Lydia) Laga, Mitch (Adrienne) and Eileen Ennis, Shane (Ashley), Jameson (Sara), Ally and Connor Laga, Hayley Moriarty, and Kendra and Ryan Porter; her cherished great-grandchildren, Peyton, Amber, Raelynn, Landon, Madison, Caleb, Aubrey and Benjamin; and sister-in-law, Arlene Irmen.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 410 N 1st St, Cary, IL 60013. Burial will be held privately.
