Marie Oltz

Marie Ann Oltz, of Elk Grove Village, passed away September 19, 2024 at the age of 93. 

She was born December 8, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Alfred and Amelia (nee Consani) Guidizi.

Marie enjoyed spending time sewing, crocheting, going fishing; she had a love for food, particularly Italian Biscotti, and a love for Elvis. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with family at family gatherings and parties, especially Christmas Eve.

Marie is survived by her children, Marybeth (Chris) Saigh, Donna (Bernie) O’Reilly, Marilyn Kortendick, Duane (Helen) Oltz, and Deneen (John) Oltz; daughter-in-law, Diane Oltz; her grandchildren, Neil Saigh, Eileen (Will) Pacer, Heather (John) Clark, Justin (Carol) Oltz, Patrick (Jen) Kortendick, Nicholas Kortendick, Christopher (fiancée Jer) Kortendick, Brooke (Chris) Tilindis, Tyler (Elena) Fehring, Tanner (Taylor) Fehring, and Drake Fehring; her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Max, Levi, and a little boy on the way; and her sister, Judy Baumhart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Oltz; her son, Dennis Oltz; and her siblings, Irene Renaldi, Peter Guidizi, and Betty Lorentz.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until prayers at 1:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake, with procession to follow to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, for the funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s memory to Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.
