Marilyn A. Schick, 66, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully after a 2-year battle with ovarian cancer on October 12, 2022. She was born on February 4, 1956 in Chicago, IL to George and Rosemarie Schick.

Marilyn was a proud graduate of the Kellogg School of Business Management at Northwestern University, where she earned her Master’s Degree. Her career in Information Technology spanned for 40 years, and was employed by USG, Rust-Oleum, Barrington Unified School District, McHenry County College, and TC Industries.

She enjoyed a variety of crafts, especially quilting and weaving. Marilyn also greatly enjoyed spending the winters in Marco Island, Florida.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by her life partner, Rich Johnson; siblings, Carolyn O’Donnell and George (Pam) Schick; nieces and nephews, Colleen (Chris) Catania, Dan (Crystle) O’Donnell, Mark (Christina) O’Donnell, Brian (Heather) Schick and Melissa (Kevin) Schick; her aunt, Stephanie Michaels; and by her 6 great-nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1 PM until 4 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society .
