Marion Lee Madeya

Marion Lee Madeya, of Crystal Lake, passed away August 28, 2026, at JourneyCare in Barrington at the age of 82. She was born June 3, 1944, in Chicago, the daughter of the late David and Anna Marie (Prignano) Baustian. Marion was raised in Melrose Park and graduated from Proviso East High School.

Marion worked for Juno Lighting in Des Plaines. She met John Madeya at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine. The two were married on her birthday in 1989 and shared 37 years together.

Marion had a creative spirit and loved working with her hands. She enjoyed crafting, making jewelry, diamond art, and caring for her plants. She had a special love for turtles and loved Christmas, especially giving presents to those she cared about. She was the organizer of the Prignano Family Reunion for decades.

More than anything, Marion enjoyed spending time with John and the people who were important to her.

She will be remembered for her creativity, the simple things that brought her happiness, and the life she and John built together.

Marion is survived by her beloved husband, John; her children, Gene and Kelly; grandchildren, Kayla, Tanya, Gino, Nico, Trisha and several great grandchildren; along with many family members and friends. She is further survived by children, Jodi and Randy and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Anna Marie Baustian and her infant son, Joey.
