Marjorie Corrington

Marjorie H. Corrington (nee Hayn) of Barrington passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at The Garlands of Barrington.
The wake will be from 3-8 p.m., Friday, October 4, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington
The funeral service will be Saturday, October 5, at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 S. Brinker Rd., Barrington Hills, where there will also be visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Born January 28, 1916, in Chicago, she was one of four children of the late Don Porter and Edith McGill Hayn.
A graduate of Morgan Park High School, she attended DePauw University in Indiana and studied at the the Chicago College of Commerce and the American Institute of Banking.
She had a successful 20-year career in banking. During this time, she served various officer positions in professional associations, including President of the National Association of Banking Women.
She married Louis E. Corrington Jr., also a banker, in 1955. They had one daughter, Margo, born in 1956.
Ms. Corrington then devoted her attention to her family and philanthropic endeavors. She served on the boards of United Cerebral Palsy and Brain Research – to name a few, and devoted much effort to fund-raising endeavors, especially for organizations serving individuals with disabilities.
Most recently, she was a member of Barrington Hills Country Club and The Presbyterian Church of Barrington.
She is survived by one brother, G. William Hayn of Sun City West, Arizona; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Corrington, Jr.; her daughter, Margo Louise Corrington, of Rolling Meadows, IL; her sister, Helen Usborne of Lombard, IL; and her brother, Don Porter Hayn Jr. of Park Forest, IL.
