Marjorie Rowe

The funeral service for Marjorie Susan Rowe (nee Beckman), 71, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 2, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Pastor Walter Marshall will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., Thursday, October 1, at the funeral home. Born June 19, 1938, in Chicago, Mrs. Rowe passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Mrs. Rowe attended Northwestern University, was an accomplished artist, gifted pianist, avid gardener, and had been involved in many area activities and groups, such as the Boy and Girl Scouts. Survivors include her husband, John, whom she married February 28, 1959, at Edgebrook Lutheran Church, Chicago; children, Rick (Lisa) Rowe of Fox River Grove, Renee Brown of Barrington, and Risa (Michael) LaMontagne of Cary; grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Rowe, Jenkins and Jefferson Brown, and Suzanne Kelly and Michael and Cameron LaMontagne. Mrs. Rowe was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marjorie (nee Hanson) Beckman; and aunts, Helen and Muriel Hanson.
