Marlene Mae Shelton passed away peacefully February 24, 2024 in Crystal Lake. She was born July 16, 1935 in Ashtabula, OH to Glenn and Louise Rexroad.

Marlene graduated with high honors from Andrews School for Girls in Willoughby, OH. She held various office positions including a high-profile legal firm in Youngstown, OH and then continued with office management at Browning Ferris Industries until she retired. Woodrow Shelton, her husband, was an avid small plane pilot and Marlene often accompanied him for state to state flights. She and Woodrow also had their own business, The Ad Couple, where Woodrow sold advertising specialties to businesses in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Marlene loved and cared for her family immensely and enjoyed shopping, dinners out, and lively conversation.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (David) Loucks; and grandchildren, Mallory (Roy) Garcia of Lakewood, IL, Miranda Loucks of Woodstock, IL, Lorelai Selch of Crystal Lake, and Baby Girl Loucks Garcia due in June.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow Robert Shelton.

Burial services for Marlene will be held privately at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
