Crystal Lake, Illinois,Marvin M. "Brick" Radovich, 79, a lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Marv was born on March 2, 1931 to Walter and Anna (Hitzke) Radovich. For over 35 years, he was an Account Executive for CNA insurance. After retirement, he worked at H & R Block during tax season. His main passion in life was his grandchildren. He enjoyed the White Sox, Cubs, Blackhawks, and golfing. Marv was a coach in the Babe Ruth League in Crystal Lake for many years, and also played semi-pro amateur baseball. Marv was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years. An Air Force Veteran, he was stationed in Germany as a radio operator. He was also a genius at crossword puzzles. He is survived by his loving wife Gwen, whom he was united in marriage to on October 20 1956 in Crystal Lake; beloved children Brad Radovich, Brian (Jean) Radovich, Amy (Robert) Tegel, and Linnette Koepke; cherished grandchildren Alexander, Thomas, Matthew, Jenny, Andrew, Erik, Brian, and Emily; dear brothers Wallace and Allen (Karen) Radovich. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Memorial visitation for Marv will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010, from 4-9pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20th, 11am, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 McHenry Avenue, Crystal Lake. Reverend Larry Tieman will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle, Ste 1500 Chicago IL 60604-1242, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 150 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago IL 60601-7524, or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 W. Monroe St., Chicago IL 60661-3793 in his honor are appreciated.
