Mary Abraham, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. She was born on February 15, 1934, in Belfast Ireland to the late William and Catherine McCarthy.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Abraham, and her sister Shelia Demauro. Mary is survived by her children; Kathleen (John) Kruse of Torrington, Connecticut, and Karen (John) Mitmoen of Cary, Illinois and Craig Abraham of Loves Park, Illinois; grandchildren, Luke, Keith, Natalie, Jeanette, John Jr., Jacob, Bradley and Danielle; great grandchildren, Reid, Lucy, Lincoln (children of Luke and Dana Kruse), Nicolas (child of Keith and Angelika Kruse) Landon, Emilia (children of Natalie and Colby Catania), Julian, Miles, Cora (children of Jeanette and DJ Miller), Dallas, Hunter (children John Jr. and Katie Mitmoen), Kendall (child of Jacob Mitmoen), Beau, Jase and Ayda (children of Bradley and Mary Abraham).
Mary was raised in Chicago, Illinois where she met her husband in 8th grade. They married in 1957 and lived in the Abraham three-family home, around the block from Wrigley Field, until they built their home in Palatine, Illinois. As a little girl she vacationed every summer at Norman B. Barr Camp in Lake Geneva, WI and continued that tradition - where every summer was spent on the pier with her family and friends.
Mary loved being a snowbird, spending the winter months in Venice Florida where she enjoyed her book club, garden club and playing tennis. Most of all she cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always bragging about their accomplishments. We will miss her dearly – a dedicated wife, beautiful mother and always our best friend.
The Abraham Family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Lake Barrington Woods and JourneyCare Hospice, for the exceptional care and circle of Love they provided Mary during her last days.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Parish, 107 W Walworth St, Elkhorn WI 53121, and celebration of life at Jonathan’s restaurant in Delevan, WI. Mary Abraham will be interred alongside her husband, at Roselawn Garden Cemetery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
