Mendel Kieth Hamrick

Mendel Kieth Hamrick, 76, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away February 23, 2024. Mendel was born September 5, 1947 in Webster Springs, West Virginia to the late Doy and Jana Hamrick.

In loving memory of Mendel Hamrick, we bid farewell to a remarkable generous soul whose presence graced our lives with warmth and wisdom. He was not just a good man; he was the epitome of perfection as a father, an awesome husband, the greatest grandfather and little brother anyone could ask for. Mendel’s storytelling prowess was legendary, weaving tales that transported us to distant lands and bygone eras. A smart, funny and serious man. The perfect neighbor, a patient teacher and always a dear friend with his unique form of bondo ready to help and repair so many. We are forever grateful for the time we had with our beloved.

Mendel is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hamrick; children, Shane (JoAnn) Hamrick, Jaime Hamrick, Christie Campagna and Katie Campagna; grandchildren, Jade Hamrick, Logan Hamrick, Isabella Farrington, Bailey Campagna, and Reiley Cook; and siblings, Gary Hamrick and Terry Hamrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry Hamrick and Doy Hamrick.

We are losing his presence not his essence.
He will always be in our hearts and minds.

Rest in peace, dear Mendel, and may your spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
