Michael C. Smetters

Michael C. Smetters, age 48, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Michael was born in Hinsdale, IL on June 21, 1975. Michael worked for Stryker in Cary, IL for over 20 years. Michael was very involved in scouting throughout the years and enjoyed doing so with both of the children. Michael thoroughly enjoyed many hobbies over the years including: sailing, building model airplanes, raising chickens, and more.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Michelle Smetters (nee Robinson); stepchildren, Taryn Naomi Rayne Blair and Trystin Michael Lee Blair; parents, Jeffrey and Catherine (nee Bucic) Smetters; siblings, Robert Arthur Smetters and Jennifer Lynn Smetters; and grandmother, Phyllis B. Smetters.

Preceded in death by his grandfather, Guy R. Smetters; grandmother Margaret M. Bucic and grandfather George Bucic.

A memorial visitation for Michael will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Eulogies will be held at 3pm.
