Michael "Hevy" Domek, 56

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Hevy" Domek, who departed peacefully very early on the morning of June 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous 3 year fight with glioblastoma. Mike was born on April 16, 1969 and lived a life marked by his visionary spirit, relentless dedication, and generous heart.

Mike's entrepreneurial journey began with humble roots and immense ambition. In 1992, with just $100, he founded VIP Tour Company, a testament to his strong work ethic and keen sales acumen, in the event ticketing industry. This passion evolved into the creation of TicketsNow.com in 1999, an innovative online marketplace that revolutionized secondary ticket sales. Under Mike's leadership, TicketsNow grew exponentially, earning recognition from publications like Inc. Magazine and Crain's Chicago Business, which named him to its prestigious "40 Under 40" list and as one of Chicago's top entrepreneurs. His pioneering spirit led TicketsNow to become the world's largest and most trusted online marketplace for premium event tickets, culminating in its acquisition by TicketMaster.

Following his success with TicketsNow, Mike embarked on another remarkable endeavor: Bunker Hill Farms in Woodstock, IL. What began in 2005 as a 150-acre private family retreat blossomed into a sprawling 450-acre luxury destination. Bunker Hill Farms, now renowned for its exclusive golf course and extensive recreational activities, also serves as a hub for Bunker Hill Charities, reflecting Mike's deep commitment to philanthropy and giving back to the community. His passion for music was evident through an annual charity concert, Rockin the Hill, that grants back to many local charity organizations. Mike was also a driving force in bringing INCubatoredu to many McHenry County High Schools and often presented in the classroom or mentored a team.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike was a loving father. He was a respected member of his community, actively involved with organizations such as the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and Big Brothers Big Sisters. His warm smile, quick wit, and unwavering support for those he cared about will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; his children, Nicholas, Alex, and Matthew; his Moms, Janet Fleming and Sandy Domek; his siblings, Dave (Renita) Domek, John (Melody) Domek, Jody McGuire, Mary (Marvin) Blackmore, Joe (Danielle) Domek, and a host of extended nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

A funeral Mass to celebrate Mike's life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098. A private interment will follow the Mass.

In lieu of a traditional visitation, a celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date to allow all who loved him to gather, share memories, and honor his legacy. Details for this celebration will be communicated as they become available.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Bunker Hill Charities. Checks can be mailed to 265 Exchange Dr, Suite 201, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 or online donations can be made at https://bit.ly/DonateBHC.

Mike's spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
