Nancy (Anderson) Herr

Nancy Herr died at her home on Monday, May 1st, 2023 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on November 21, 1930 to Marion and Thure Anderson of Woodstock, Il.  She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Thomas Edward Herr; her daughter Leslie Herr, her son Tom Herr Jr and her daughter, Lisa Davis (John) and her 5 grandsons: Andrew Solomon (Diane Kim), Michael Davis, William Davis, Danny Davis, Jack Davis and her great grand-daughter, Naomi Solomon.

Nancy grew up in Chicago and Woodstock. She attended St Scholastica High School in Chicago. Nancy continued her studies at Marquette University. After graduation, she traveled throughout Europe before starting her career as Vice President of Terry’s Food. In 1961,Nancy and Tom were married and soon they welcomed three children into their lives.

Nancy was a devoted mother and was actively involved in her children's education, volunteering at St. Anne and Elgin Academy. She was also a dedicated member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and volunteered for many years with the Michael Joseph Foundation in Barrington. She enjoyed a successful career as a realtor in Barrington and was a long-time member at Barrington Hills Country Club. Nancy had a deep faith and for years enjoyed participating in the annual retreats at the Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House.

In retirement, Nancy and Tom enjoyed spending their winters in Carefree, Arizona, with friends and traveled extensively throughout the world. Her family and friends will miss her incredible kindness, her warm smile, and the many memories she provided us all.

A private funeral mass was held on Friday, May 5th, at St. Anne's Church, honoring Nancy's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House: 420 West County Line Road, Barrington, IL 60010-4011
