Naomi Jacobson Stark, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by love.
Born in Willmar, Minnesota, Naomi was the beloved daughter of Bertle Leroy Jacobson and Edythe Olive (Marine) Jacobson. She was married to Henry Allan Stark for 50 years until his passing in 2022. Together, they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and shared joy.
Early in her career, Naomi worked with Estée Lauder, but her true calling emerged in 1980 when she co-founded Wooden Door, a women’s health retreat created alongside two of her closest friends. Through this work, she touched countless lives, offering healing, connection, and joy.
Naomi had a deep passion for life and a gift for bringing joy to everyone around her. A devoted advocate for the environment and a true nature lover, she found beauty and peace in the natural world. Known fondly as “the bird lady” during her cherished time in Islamorada, Florida Keys, Naomi delighted in birdwatching and sharing her knowledge with others.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Hannah Stark Horrigan, and son-in-law, Adam James Horrigan; her adored grandchildren Renner Henry Horrigan and Eve James Horrigan; her brother, Darryl Jacobson; and her devoted partner, Ray Lada.
Naomi’s final years were filled with love, joy, and the people and experiences that meant the most to her. Her vibrant spirit, boundless kindness, and joyful presence will be missed more than words can express. She is forever loved and forever missed.
