Niki Stage

Niki Stage, 48, of Kildeer, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024. She was born on May 12, 1976 in Chicago to George and Roula Hondropoulos.

Born with an innate curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, Niki grew up in Mount Prospect, where she attended Hersey High School. She pursued higher education with passion, earning her Bachelor's degree in Business from Bradley University before delving into the world of art at Northeastern Illinois University. Her love for art led her to become an art teacher, most recently at Lake Forest High School, where she flourished in her role and was well loved by her students and the faculty.

Niki found joy and fulfillment in her role as a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Jason. Together, they shared a passion for home design and renovation, transforming their house into a sanctuary of warmth and beauty. Their shared projects were not just about construction but about building a life together, one filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.

Niki's artistic talents knew no bounds, as evidenced by her love for illustrating children's books and experimenting with digital art. Her creations resonated with a sense of whimsy and wonder, captivating hearts and sparking imaginations with their vibrant colors and heartfelt storytelling.

An adventurous spirit at heart, Niki reveled in the thrill of exploration and discovery. Whether sailing the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean with her family or immersing herself in the rich cultural tapestry of Italy, she approached each new adventure with an open heart and a thirst for knowledge.

Niki is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Jason, her cherished children, Ashton (17) and Emmett (13); her parents; her siblings, Angela (Nate) Blough, Bill and Andrew Hondropoulos; her parents-in-law, Dick and Judy Stage; and by many loving, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
