Nita Louise Bialk

Nita L. Bialk, of Buffalo Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the age of 83.

She was born November 2, 1942 in Chicago, the daughter of the late John and Isabel Mendicino.

Nita found joy in many simple pleasures. She loved shopping and had a passion for baking, sewing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed reading, especially The Power of Positive Thinking, reading affirmations that reflected her uplifting outlook on life. Above all, Nita cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, who brought her the greatest happiness.

Nita was the loving mother of Gary (Debby) Bialk, Jr., Laura (Jim) Pontious, Linda (Mark) Leighton, and Andrew (Jocelyn) Bialk; beloved Grammie of Alex and Matt Pontious, Brandon (Jaci), Michael (Kari), Paige and Colin Leighton, Landon and Evan Bialk; loving sister of Noel (Hal) D’Orazio, Rica (Marc) Kaplan, and John (Stephanie) Mendicino, Jr.; and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Bialk.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 16, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Private Interment immediately following.
