Patricia Ellen Baldwin

Patricia Ellen Baldwin, 70, passed away at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL on June 1, 2023, following a lengthy battle with cancer.  Patricia was a long time resident of Cary and Crystal Lake, though had recently moved to a home in Lake in the Hills.

Tricia, as she was known, was born to Kenneth and Dorothy (Beaird) Baldwin on May 18, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up mostly in Urbana and Glenbrook, IL, graduating from Glenbrook South High School.  She then completed some college work and various certifications in both software and finance.  Tricia began a long career with Allstate Insurance Company of Northbrook, IL in 1989.  She spent most of her 24-year career working in Allstate’s Treasury Department before retiring in 2013.

Following her retirement, Tricia discovered her true passion and mastered the various skills associated with quilting.  She was a proud member of and held positions in various quilting organizations, including the North Suburban Needle Arts Guild, the Friendship Star Quilt Guild, the Country Quilters of McHenry, and, last but not least, the “Stitchin’ Bitches.”

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Baldwin, 52, of Lake in the Hills, her four grandchildren, and her sister, Barbara, of Denton, TX.  Tricia loved her family and was particularly close with her older sisters Elizabeth and Barbara.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 4pm at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 8901 Cary-Algonquin Road in Cary.  All who knew and loved Tricia are welcome to attend.
