Patricia "Patt" (Magner) Deppert

Patricia "Patt" Deppert (nee Magner), 74, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away at home January 25, 2024. Patricia was born September 14, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robert and Vivian Magner.

Patt is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where she earned her Bachelor and Masters Degrees. She was a lifetime learner and took many classes after obtaining her Masters degree to further her education.

In the early 1970's, Patt began teaching Special Education and coaching volleyball at Cary Grove High School. In 1975, Patt began to grow the Special Education programs to eventually include special services in all the buildings within District 155, in addition to establishing the annex and alternative education programs. Patt became part of the District 155 administration as Dirctor of Special Services, impacting many students and many peoples lives. She retired in 2005.

After her retirement, Patt spent several years working with children and families helping them deal with loss by donating her time and talents to grief counseling organizations.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Keith Deppert; siblings, Nancy (Rick) Raske, Kevin (Patty) Magner, and Jim (Angie) Magner; brother-in-law, Terry (Vicki) Deppert; nieces and nephews, Molly (Matt) Scarlata, Katie (Ryan) Keesbury, Patrick (Bridget) Magner, Kevin (Dana) Raske, Courtney (Kalin) Raske-Knox, Bill (Kristin) Magner, Allison (Josh) Jensen, Brett Deppert, and Dara (Kip) McCoy; along with many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2024, from 4:00pm until the time of prayer service at 7:30pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (#176) Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014. A second visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Saint Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 6955 N Hiawatha Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. Burial will be held privately.
